The Health Benefits of Eating an Oreo

Do you agree? Do you disagree? If so, why?

I was talking to one of my FDU student (Kerrie) and she was telling me about the power that food has over her.

And this video was the result of me trying to reframe her mindset around certain foods.

I think the goal for all of us with our nutrition is to not give food soo much power over us.

It’s meant to be enjoyed.

It’s meant to help us live our best life.

It’s meant to be a tool.

It’s NOT meant to be feared.

And it’s a scary time nowadays when we have soo many eating disorders in disguise because of this “clean eating” movement.

Orthorexia Nervosa is a real thing.

It is a condition driven by western cultural influences pushing the obsession with health, wellness and clean eating.

I am all for eating mostly whole foods. I talk about it all the time.

But this 100% clean eating movement is creating soo many eating disorders in disguise.

And we underestimate the value that being able to have a labeled “dirty food” guilt free knowing that all the negative consequences are from overconsumption, not from the food itself.

The dose is what makes something healthy or unhealthy.
