Macros per French Toast Stick without outside coating (makes 24):
34 Cals, 4g Carbs, 0.5g Fat, 3.5g Protein
Ingredients (makes 24 French Toast Sticks):
8 Slices of Bread (I used Natures Own Butter Bread)
200g Egg Whites
1 Large Egg
60g Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
2g Vanilla Extract
30g Vanilla Whey/Casein Blend Protein Powder
15g PB Party Protein Cookie Butter Powder
4g Zero Cal Sweetener
3g Ground Cinnamon
1g Nutmeg
Cinnamon Brown Sugar Outside Coating:
30g Brown Sugar
8g Zero Cal Sweetener of your choice
4g Ground Cinnamon
*Tbh, the zero cal sweetener and the cinnamon were the only thing to actually coat on the sticks. The brown sugar just wouldn’t stick with out having to add extra butter spray which I didn’t want to do.
Directions:
1.) Add all your french toast ingredients (besides the bread) to your small blender (I used a nutribullet) and pulse till all combined.
2.) Now take your slices of bread and cut each slice into 3 sticks. You should have 24 sticks after cutting all 8 slices of bread.
3.) Add your mixture in your blender to a shallow bowl that has room for you to soak your sticks. Mine could fit about 4 at a time. Let soak for about 20 seconds in the mixture and then add to your air fryer. My air fryer could hold 8 sticks at a time. Also, I do recommend using a parchment paper air fryer sheet to make sure the sticks don’t drip through the cracks in the tray. Makes it much easier to get then when they are cooked. I just air fried until the sticks were no longer liquid to the touch and then took out the parchment paper and cooked the rest of the time.
4.) Spray tops of french toast sticks with non stick cooking spray and then air fry on 400 degrees F for 6-8 Minutes flipping halfway through. Keep an eye on them! Times can vary due to air fryer being different.
5.) Coat right out of the air fryer in your cinnamon brown sugar mixture and then enjoy!
