Ingredients for 1 Burger:
5.5oz 96/4 Lean Ground Beef
Sea Salt
4 Slices of Bread of your choice (I used Natures Own Butter Bread)
35g 2% Colby Jack Cheese
20g Egg Whites
*When you weigh out the leftover bread, you end up with only using 2.5 slices of bread for the uncrustables so that’s what is used for the macros.
Directions for One Burger:
1.) Form your burger patty. Don’t salt until you are about to add it to your pan.
2.) Take your 4 slices of bread and roll out with a rolling pin. Then cut out a circle where you are barely touching the crust of each side. Cut as big of a circle as you can is what I meant. I used a biscuit cutter but you don’t need it.
3.) Now add 14g of your cheese to the middle of one the slice of bread. Brush egg whites to the outside edges of that slice of bread. Then brush some more egg whites to the bottom part of another pieces of bread. Then press the edges together till fully sealed..
4.) Now take a fork and dip it in the egg whites. Use it to crimp the edges of the uncrustable shut. Repeat this whole process for the other uncrustable. We want to time all this out perfectly, so don’t add your uncrustables to your air fryer just yet.
5.) Preheat your stove top pan to a 7/10 heat. Spray with non stick cooking spray and then salt one side of your burger. Put that side facedown on the pan. Then salt the top side and use your burger press to smash it down so about a ½ thick. Add a little bit of yellow mustard to the top of the burger. This helps with keeping the burger juicy.
6.) Cook on that side until you start to see the brown coming up the side of the burger. Then flip, add 7g on top of the burger and add water to the pan to help melt the cheese but also steam the burger. Add a cover on top of the pan. Cook on that side for about 4 minutes or until middle reaches your desired wellness.
7.) Once you flip your burger, add your uncrustables to your air fryer on 360 Degrees F for 5 minutes, flipping halfway through. Then once all is done, put your burger together, slice in half and enjoy!
